My family and I have been on a whirl wind road trip.
We were gone a total of 2 1/2 weeks, tent camped, and took in a sampler platter of the North East United States.
A list of the states we visited, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, and of course back home to Kansas.
Here are a few of the highlights!
My kids are troopers, they get along well in the car, and helped set up the campsite!
No this wasn't us, and I apologize if it was you, just too funny.
Lake Erie, enjoyed all the great lakes we saw, Michigan, Erie, and Ontario.
Niagara Falls
Notre Dame, great good will in South bend. We scored with the souvenir shirts! Later we stopped at a goodwill in Syracuse, just as lucky!
New York City.
We survived the train in to town and the subway. Thank You to the friendly young girl in the train station in Harrison NJ.
Philly,
Gets the award for favorite big city, and the BEST city to bicycle in. The only way to see all the sites in a day when parking is in an issue.
D.C., a different kind of hot. Again, bicycles are the only way to see the monuments (Capitol to Lincoln Memorial 8 miles round trip)
Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive. Our FAVORITE part of the trip. Loved it!
Floating on the Current River, refreshing but still hot.
It is good to be home.
Lori
