My sister Ellen and I grew up in a creative house. Our mother set a wonderful example and inspired us through sewing, painting....., and does still today. Our father, also, had a flare for design.
Recently Ellen and I have reawakened our creative juices with the help of Pinterest and other blogs. Our kids are a little older now, and although we don't have a lot of time, when there is a spare minute, we create.
Ellen approached me a few weeks ago to see if I wanted to go into business together and start selling our creations, mostly jewelry. I was reluctant for many reasons, but mainly making more than one of something bores me. She however, is jumping in with both feet.
So, I suggested starting a blog together, an online diary of our travel through creative projects. We struggled with names for ourselves. I thought it would be nice to align with her business name. Ellen had some great names, but most of them had already been snagged. Twisted Sister, Wee Hours, and Little Black Dress just to name a few.
What does all of this have to do with BarnNumber2?
Well my husband is also creative, and when he has too much time on his hands he creates or builds. Several years ago, he built another barn, that we affectionately refer to as Barn Number 2.
Barn Number 2 is our "party" barn. We do anything and everything out there: bonfires, pumpkin carving, skeet shooting, bow and arrow practice, hedge apple throwing, hotdog cooking, smore making, deer skinning, hockey games, washer games..........
Simple put, Barn Number 2 is "everything that is cool, and nothing that's not", just like our blog.
