Pillowcase shirt and Velour leggings

So I saw "pillowcase" shirts all over Pinterest.  I really thought they were made out of pillow cases.

A few weeks later, my sister-in-law was cleaning closets and came across her grandmother's pillowcase.  She immediately thought of me and turned it over.  I of course would never fit into a regular pillowcase, so R is getting a new top!  At the same time, I came across a blog with a making your own tights post, makeit-loveit.com .  R goes through tights quickly.

Here is what i started with, the pillowcase on the left, and an old velour skirt on the right.  Yes, I still had a velour skirt in my closet, uugghhh!

Using the sites above for the skirt, and pillowcase as though the were just raw fabric. I came up with this:
