I introduced my fifth graders to the artist Dale Chihuly. They were totally mesmerized by his blown glass pieces. We added color to plastic water bottles with colored permanent markers and cut them into spirals. I attached the 90 water bottles to a hanging wire basket similar to this one, that I purchased at a garage sale this summer.
I just used floral wire to attach the bottles to the basket and hung our beautiful Chihuly chandelier in our hallway next to an exit door. I love the way the light inter plays with all the wonderful colors. I was inspired by these great tutorials I found on Pinterest.
